The Chicago Investors Conference, first launched in 2010, is an annual gathering hosted by the City of Chicago to provide a detailed overview of the city's economy and finances. This year's event, set for May 17th, 2024, promises a comprehensive lineup including a discussion with Mayor Brandon Johnson and panelists from various city departments as well as Chicago's vibrant business community. While originally hosted exclusively for investors the conference has since expanded its invite list to include a broader community of stakeholders and industry professionals such as financial advisors, rating agencies, journalists and real estate developers.
This full-day event will feature morning tours showcasing the City's iconic public and private development, these include tours of O'Hare International Airport, Jardine Water Purification Plant, The Salt Shed , the Obama Presidential Center Site, and a boat tour along the Chicago River among many others.
The afternoon will open with a welcome from CFO Jill Jaworski and remarks from Senior Business Economist Thomas Walstrum from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The programming then shifts to two panels, the first featuring representatives from DPD, DOH, and MPEA, the second being a Business Executive Panel moderated by World Business Chicago. We round out the evenings events with a lakeside chat with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Chicago CFO Jill Jaworski before ending with an on-site reception.
